This long-held conviction was challenged after he met Grammy and Academy Award-winning music producer Ric Wake, a titan of the pop industry known for his work with Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston. Wake proposed the idea of adding vocals to Yanni’s classic melodies. For two-and-a-half years, Yanni hesitated, but eventually, he was won over. His first condition was simple: the new vocalists could not "ruin the songs". and his first-ever album to place vocals at the forefront, blending fresh interpretations of vintage tracks with new, original material.
